Physical Education
At Hurst Drive Primary School, Physical Education (PE) is taught twice a week in all year groups using the Get Set 4 PE Scheme which is in line with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and National Curriculum for Key Stages 1 and 2.
Children have one indoor PE lesson and one outdoor PE lesson and parents/carers must make sure their child has suitable PE kit for both. Please click here to find out what PE kit is expected for every child.
In PE lessons, the children develop fundamental skills, becoming increasingly competent and confident, and learn how to use them in different ways. They will have access to a broad range of sporting opportunities, working both individually and with others, and this will lead to them engaging in competitive and co-operative physical activities. They will also learn how to evaluate not only to improve in different physical activities but also to recognise their own successes.
