At Hurst Drive Primary School, music is taught weekly in Reception, KS1 and KS2 using the Charanga Musical School Scheme.

The children learn to listen and appraise music, giving their thoughts and opinions about lots of different genres of music. They also learn to sing songs or play instruments to accompany music before ultimately performing the finished piece as a class to recognise the progress they’ve made in their singing and instrument-playing abilities.
