Newsletter - w/c 25/02/19

Dear parent/carer,

We have e-mailed this newsletter but please find the same information below. If parents/carers could encourage others to follow us on Facebook and/or check the school has the correct e-mail address for them, we would be very grateful.

🏋🏽‍♀️ Tuesday 26th February 2019 - A-Life Workshops 🏋🏻‍♂️

Tomorrow, the company A-Life will be visiting our school to lead on some fun fitness workshops for the children to help introduce their new personal social health education (PSHE) topic 'Healthy Me'. Please note that all children will need to bring their PE kit to school tomorrow.

🤩 Friday 1st March 2019 - Mad March Hair Day 🤩

This Friday, if your child brings in £1 to raise money for the school, he or she may style their hair in the maddest way possible, including colouring it or even wearing a jazzy wig! Please note that school uniform will need to be worn but the hair can be as creative as you like! There will be prizes for the children with the maddest hair!

📚 Ready, Steady, Read - Monday 4th March 2019 - Sunday 10th March 2019 📚

To celebrate and encourage a lifelong love of books and reading at home and school, we will be running a sponsored read between Monday 4th March and Sunday 10th March.

The project is being organised in conjunction with our local Usborne Organiser and all the money raised will go towards brand new books for our school. Please help us to enhance our reading resources for pupils by spending a small amount of time each day reading with your child and sponsor each minute that is read. It is not just books that you can enjoy together; you can also read comics, magazines, recipes, menus or your favourite websites - anything with words that you can read together counts towards your total.

Your child will bring home a letter and a sponsorship form today.

After the sponsored read, please send all the sponsorship money that your child has raised to the school office on Monday 11th of March.

📗 World Book Day - Thursday 7th March 2019 📙

To give you plenty of time to prepare, it is World Book Day on Thursday 7th March 2019 so we would like the children to come to school dressed as a favourite character from a storybook for which there will be prizes of brand-new books for those children in the best costumes. You needn't spend a lot of money on a costume - Mumsnet have a helpful article with ideas for cost-effective costumes.

Please also note that Herts Catering Limited (who provide our school meals) will be doing a special lunch menu on this day, including...

Red option: Horrid Henry's BBQ Chicken Burger with baked potato wedges and vegetables
Green option: Moody Margarita Sweetcorn Pizza with baked potato wedges and vegetables
Dessert: Perfect Peter's Chocolate Orange Cookie

If your child usually has a packed lunch but you would like them to have a school meal on this day, leaflets will be going home for you to fill out and return to the school office by Monday 4th March 2019.

Please note that we only have a set number of places for each club and these fill up quickly so please head to the School Office as soon as possible to secure a place for your child, and please try not to be too disappointed if all the spaces are filled - we would love to have all the children attend but we just don't have the space or the staff to accommodate them all.

Thank you. 🙂
